FROM KNOW TO WPO: TWO WEEKS WITH WOMEN BUSINESS LEADERS

May 29, 2025 Britt Johnson

Two whirlwind weeks filled with inspiration, connection, and a whole lot of learning from 200+ successful female founders and executives averaging over a million dollars in revenue annually is not something I am BOASTING about. As someone who's been with KNOW Women—a global media company dedicated to amplifying the voices of ambitious women—and attended five summits, each event continues to fill my cup in ways I can't fully describe. But I will try my best in this blog!

First, the Annual KNOW Summit! This Spring 2025 it was help at the gorgeous resort in Fountain Hills- ADERO. If you're curious about last year's experience, you can read my 2024 recap here: KNOW Summit 2024 Success. At KNOW Women, I have the privilege of producing podcasts, crafting content, and fostering connections that highlight and celebrate female leaders. At the KNOW Women Summit 2025 I wore alot of hats as well. I was BOUNCER BRITT - directing traffic for workshops and roundtables, setting the stage for the panels and fireside chats, and prepping the seats for the next gifts and finally honoring the 100 Women to KNOW in America! Early mornings late nights and avoiding a commute back to midtown with a stay at the team AirBnB! It was another huge SUCCESS!

After a quick rest it was off to San Antonio Texas for the WPO Entrepreneurial Excellence Forum. KNOW served as the media partner for the Women Presidents Organization (WPO) for the third consecutive year. It was my second time attending, and let me tell you, one of my highlights was interviewing two of the honorees from the 50 Fastest Growing Women-Owned/Led Companies, an annual ranking sponsored by JPMorgan Chase Commercial Banking and WPO. One of these incredible women runs the largest supplier of English muffins for McDonald's Egg McMuffins! Their stories of grit, innovation, and perseverance left me in awe. I cannot wait for these episodes to air soon! Beyond the interviews, we captured founder stories and “mini mic moments” with attendees. These candid conversations reminded me that every successful woman is just like us- Stars - They're Just Like Us! Speaking of Stars like us… Misty Copeland. She was our incredible Key Note and so incredible relatable. From building a business, getting back in dance, being an incredible partner and mom and so much more. Sharing having grace for yourself is key.

There was one moment that stuck out in particular: A successful multi million dollar business women asked me: “So, are you getting the entrepreneurial bug?” I laughed and said I already caught it. But what occurred to me in that moment I need to LIVE it! I've been immersed in the world of entrepreneurship—I ran a business for 10+ years that put me in rooms to meet my husband (and business partner) and other women who would champion my name when I’m not in a room. Producing podcasts, sharing stories, and connecting with incredible women through KNOW Women is not just about talking the talk; it's about walking the walk, embracing the challenges, and celebrating the victories. Everyday! So, here's me, shouting from the mountain tops: I PRODUCE PODCASTS! I'm building my future today, one episode, one story, one connection at a time. Are you ready to do the same?

XoXo

Britt

YOUR BUSINESS TOOLKIT - RESOURCES FOR SUCCESS NOT JUST IN ARIZONA NOT JUST FOR PODCASTING

April 1, 2025 Britt Johnson

In the entrepreneurial journey, success isn't about shortcut—it's about rolling up your sleeves, doing the work, BUT doing it smart. Recently we had Greg Forzani, founder of Forzani Business Education, on the podcast and he is one of those smart individuals you want to surround yourself with to grow in business and life.

Greg empowers business owners and working with KNOW Women everyday I KNOW that surrounding yourself with those to make you better is the best! Greg provides a comprehensive roadmap for business owners seeking predictable profitability and scalability. The More Profit Less Stress Program, program delves into crucial areas such as financial mastery, revenue growth, expense management, and team development. It's not about working harder; it's about working smarter.

For those facing operational challenges, the Fix Your Business Fast program offers targeted solutions. Aspiring entrepreneurs can benefit from the Start-up Business Academy, which lays the foundation for building a successful business from the ground up. Check out more about these programs at Forzani Business Education.

I will be honest with you- what we do is hard work! Working full time PLUS running a full time podcast PLUS producing 3 more podcasts! While working on bettering our family and social bonds... But we would change it, in fact we surround ourselves with those who recognize it in us and also challenge us to be better.

I encourage you to seek out those who elevate your journey. I cannot wait to hear about what you accomplish when you put your heart and brain out there.

XoXo

INGOS. YUMMY.

October 3, 2021 Britt Johnson

The best burger place is now in downtown Phoenix. This little hidden gem started as a to-go during the pandemic and recently we got a chance to dine-in and obsess over the delicious foods of this new LGO Hospitality Restaurant in the heart of downtown Phoenix.

Here are the Finding Arizona pro tips. Once you go, leave a comment and share some more with us.

Number one, park in the Fry’s parking lot get your ticket validated.

Number two, come for breakfast lunch or dinner and come hungry. We dined in for a late lunch / early dinner. We had an introductory drink, but my favorite part was the burger. The staff was very friendly especially the general manager, Gabby, she had such a passion for not only the restaurant group, but the food and the family that works there as well.

Number three, I love the decor. Jose would describe it as industrial modern. I described it as Restoration hardware commercial kitchen meets World War Two. But, back to the food that’s the most important part.

They have three cocktails on the menu and if I had three cocktails on the menu of my house they would be these: a Greyhound, Lavender Lemonade and something with tequila that’s called a Diego Rivera. I’ll let you guess who ordered what. Next, we split their house chips but honestly we could’ve ate an order ourselves. Each comes a two sauces: one fermented chili and one cool yogurt deliciousness. Pro tip! Combo them. These warm crunchy chips have a soft inside; I could eat these all day long. They paired perfectly with our burgers. Jose got the Paris Texas Burger- a bacon barbecue saucy number and I got the Farmer’s Daughter Burger- sauerkraut Yum Yum. The buns are soft, the toppings are fresh, and I don’t mean that lettuce tomato pickle freshness, I’m talking about flavorful, real ingredients combined to perfection. And the burger, which was ordered medium well, was juuuuuuuicy from every bite. I honestly don’t wanna eat another burger again if it’s not grass fed and not from INGOs. The coffee smelt like heaven and we got Almond Bear Claws to go and then the next morning I dumped it in my coffee and I went back to food heaven.

Currently dreaming of the next time I’ll be visiting downtown Phoenix for a Fry’s grocery pick up and an Ingo’s food pick up. You know Tuesday is “Takeout night”, or “We or Out Wednesday” or any excuse.

XoXo Britt

You can find Ingo’s at : 4502 N 40th St, Phoenix, AZ 85018.

WHEN ONE DOOR CLOSES....

June 14, 2019 Britt Johnson
IMG_5057.JPG

I debated about sharing this. I REALLY debated about sharing this in anyway and the last thing I thought about was writing a blog post about it. BUT, while taking a shower, where I get my best thoughts, it came to me…. why am I not sharing this!

For the past nine years, almost a decade, I’ve been an entrepreneur and more recently I am making the biggest change into corporate America. Why am I scared to share? Because of what others would think of me? Oh, how horrible that is to say, how horrible that is to type, but just thinking about it made me realize that I’m not alone and I definitely need to share and let others know that they can be confident in making and sharing life changes too!

Straight out of college I jumped in to a direct marketing and sales position. I had no idea what I was doing at first but, I knew that I loved it I had a passion for the people I was surrounded by every single day and I was learning something new every single day. Within 24 months, I was running my own marketing company! I was in a completely new state I was making decisions for people’s futures, writing and signing paychecks. I was creating opportunities and jobs for people every single day.

I am more than grateful for the skills that I’ve acquired through a career in direct marketing and sales. The first half of my nearly decade in this industry was building and developing Roadshows for Fortune 100 companies. Learning how to take “No’s to the Chin” and how to time manage like a MOFO was my specialty. The second half was building and developing people and then really honing in on my skill sets in marketing both direct and indirect. I created digital magazines, built websites and took on the challenges of learning photography and videography. I had business coaches and I had life coaches.

I went from running the business to having one of my best friends and business partners allow me to help run her organization on a daily basis. Most recently she’s been presented an opportunity to help hit some of her long-term goals and I am more than excited to watch her grow. This also has allowed me to really look at my goals and ask myself “Where do I see myself growing.” At first I said, “I can’t imagine my life without this business“ and then I realized, “I can’t imagine my life without her in this business.” So the universe provided me with connections and opportunities and without even me sending my resume to the job boards that I am more than familiar with getting candidates from I was put in the right inbox at the right time and made an unbelievable connection into the corporate world of healthcare. This will be a completely different industry, but at the end of the day it’s all about building relationships, putting a smile on somebody’s face and HELPING PEOPLE.

So as this one door closes I see 1 million more opening and I’m definitely not saying goodbye to anyone today it is see you later. Driving to my last day at the office today I listened to the Tim Ferriss Show interview with The Coach with the Spider Tattoo and among many things, one quote stood out to me: “Often times we speak with our actions and go through life without being heard.” And this is my attempt at speaking my actions.

Do I feel better after sharing this? Yes, but not as good as I felt after telling my parents and they were the ones that I was the most nervous, scared, in fact, hesitant, to tell because of what they would think. But why? They’ve shown nothing but love; they have and they always will. So if you’re reading this afraid to tell somebody you love something, I hope this gives you the courage to do just that because tomorrow will be a better day for us all.
