PRODUCER BRITT GETS A MANE ATTRACTION MOMENT

February 21, 2025 Britt Johnson

As the producer of the Finding Arizona Podcast, I recently indulged in some much-needed self-care with a transformation from Man Attraction Salon my hairstyle. We had the pleasure of reconnecting with Chris Knudsen, the owner of Mane Attraction Salon, for our "Rediscovering Arizona: Where Are They Now" series. Chris not only joined me for an insightful podcast episode but also worked his magic on my hair, bringing my Pinterest board vision to life in ways I couldn't have imagined.

During our session, Chris emphasized that at Mane Attraction Salon, they don't teach a one-size-fits-all haircut; instead, they modify techniques based on individual client needs. He explained that my haircut would incorporate four distinct cutting techniques, each tailored to suit my unique hair type and desired look. You can see in the consult photos how excited I get during the entire process.

The transformation was remarkable. Chris's expertise and attention to detail resulted in a haircut that not only met but exceeded my expectations. For those interested in the full experience and to hear more about our conversation, you can listen to the podcast episode linked here. A special thank you to Chris and the team at Mane Attraction Salon for their exceptional service and for making this self-care journey truly unforgettable.

Please Check out Mane Attraction Salon at 3156 E Camelback Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85016 and tell the Finding Arizona Sent you!

PRODUCE A PODCAST - ITS NOT EXTRA WORK

October 18, 2024 Britt Johnson

This October, I had the honor of speaking at Phoenix Design Week 2024, hosted by AIGA Arizona. The theme, "Oasis," was all about refreshing our creative spirits despite challenges—something that hit home for me when it comes to podcasting. I got to share how I stumbled into podcast production, helping my husband with our show, Finding Arizona Podcast, and how that passion grew into currently producing three podcasts: Finding Arizona, The High Achieving Female, and A Taste of AZ!

Hosting a session at Phoenix Design Week was both exhilarating and humbling. I went from being a student of the industry to standing in front of peers as a teacher. I’ve always said that the best students become great teachers, and that’s how it felt! So many people feel podcasting is too much extra work, but the truth is, it doesn’t have to be! It can fit right into what you're already doing. Here are some of the main takeaways I shared during my talk, all of which you can start applying right now:

  • Repurpose What You Already Do: You don’t need to create new content for every episode. Start with what you already have—blogs, social posts, presentations—and build from there.

  • Keep It Simple: Podcast production doesn’t need to be fancy or expensive. You can start with basic equipment and upgrade as your show grows.

  • Be Scrappy and Authentic: Authenticity is what connects you with your audience. Don’t worry about perfection; focus on sharing what you love.

My favorite part of speaking was connecting with the audience afterward—having them stay to ask questions and tell me how inspired they felt was such a rewarding experience. If I can impact even one person, I feel like I’ve done my job and I impacted a few!

If you’re feeling like you need some help getting started, Finding Arizona offers podcast production services that make it easy. Whether you want to start your show or take your existing one to the next level, we're here to support you! Don’t hesitate to reach out or check out what we offer here!

BEST OF THE VALLEY 2023

May 20, 2023 Britt Johnson

Arizona Foothills Magazine has just announced the winners of their 2023 Best of the Valley Awards and we are thrilled to see that the Best Podcast of the Valley award has gone to none other than the Finding Arizona Podcast. This recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication we put into the podcast consistently delivering engaging and informative content to our listeners.

Jose started the podcast in 2016. The podcast gained, me, Brittany and quickly a loyal following. Over the years, with listeners tuning in from all over the world with thoughtful interviews, informative discussions, and a finger on the pulse of what's happening in the Valley, it's no surprise we’re recognized as the best of the best.

Winning this award is a major achievement for Finding Arizona Podcast, and a well-deserved one at that. It also comes at a perfect time to announce our production services. Whether someone is looking to start their own podcast, record a course or series we are ready to find the next best at Found House.

Congratulations to Jose Acevedo and everyone involved in the production of this fantastic show, especially our incredible fans. You are the best find! Thanks for letting me produce such an amazing show.

So Scottsdale Finds Finding Arizona Podcast

March 20, 2020 Britt Johnson
So Scottsdale Magazine Finding Arizona Podcast

Okay, so you’re practicing “social distancing”, ordering Uber eats and sharing the latest IG post from your favorite local business. Whether you are working from home or hustling to support the community I wanted to share a happy story, a milestone, an amazing accomplishment from the Finding Arizona Podcast. In March of 2020 we were featured in So Scottsdale Magazine for our impact on the community.

We have been honored to be featured in Voyage Magazine, Phoenix Magazine, and the Know Book. With each opportunity comes great relationships and opens doors, not just for us, but for our guests as well. Recently we had the amazing opportunity to share our story in So Scottsdale Magazine. Not only did we get to look back on our accomplishments, but we also explain our visions for the future of the podcast. My favorite was the photo shoot in our home studio and outdoor space. This photo not only reminds me of our strong ability to work together as a couple but also the love we share- it is the space we held our wedding.

Okay, enough spoiler alerts- READ IT HERE. Share it and share with us your thoughts. Also, if you are an Arizona Business who has yet to be featured on the podcast, then reach out. Now more than ever, we have to work on supporting each other, our community, in the right direction.
