KNOW SUMMIT 2024 SUCCESS

April 26, 2024 Britt Johnson

Have you ever wondered what it's like to be in a room filled with AMBITIOUS female entrepreneurs, leaders, and C Suite executives? This is KNOW! And Moving to Master Summit 2024 was the place. The Palomar Hotel in Phoenix, Arizona, was buzzing with energy as women from all over gathered for three days of inspiration, empowerment, and connection.

From fire side chats with Rachel Roff and Jill Osur to a keynote speech from Jen Welter, first female NFL coach this event bas back to back! In between were panel discussion and hands-on workshops, there was no shortage of valuable insights and knowledge to soak up at the KNOW Summit. I was excited to put some faces to names, meet some phenomenal women and, of course, see the the Summit week of style!

I am honored to work with the visionary, Sarah Benken Foushee who dreams up the whole vision. Then, amazing power players come together to execute it. Huge shout out to Dreams to Reality from Tampa, FL for their amazing builds. I love having our resident DJ, Sarah Selfish to play summit from the walk out music during programming to the Tropical Disco Dance Vibes + its after party! +++ My task force of volunteers and HQ, we could NOT run with out you!

My favorite takeaway from Jen Welter was her stating if you share your dream with someone, listen to how they react! If they encourage and ask more, those are your people. Sitting here I cannot pin point one moment I loved most. I think it was the genuine conversations, connections and compliments from those cheering me on while I cheer them on.

Whether you're a seasoned entrepreneur or just starting out on your journey, the KNOW is the place to be. Learn more about Know here: https://theknowwomen.com/

Enjoy my photos and some BTS.

A NEW HALLOWEEN TRADITION

November 5, 2018 Britt Johnson
Halloween Popcorn https://www.findingarizonapodcast.com/finding-az-engagement/

This was our third Halloween together, but our first at our forever home so we wanted to make a memory to last a lifetime. From our costumes to our treats we wanted to be the new neighbors everyone was talking about in a good way.

My costumes previously like to hit a similar theme: Historical Women. So it was only fitting that this year I represented the Rowdy Ronda Rousey. Keeping in the couple’s theme Jose wanted to dress up as a WWE Character and live his childhood dreams. After scraping together what turned out to be the greatest costume of all time the 1980’s Fanny Pack, Turtle Neck, Gold Chain wearing the Rock emerged.

After attending a Halloween party and being mistaken for an 80’s rocker side chick I was ready to just start kicking butt if people were mistaken by my costume. I let it slide and by the time it was actual all Hallow’s Eve I was ready to just admire the costumes of our tick or treaters.

As a housewarming gift, Jose and I received a vintage popcorn machine and after using it in the house and watching his family use one on Halloween for their trick or treaters, we . were excited to carry on the family tradition. With our spooky front yard decked out with a giant spider and skeleton flamingos we wheeled out our popcorn machine and popped to the sounds of the Monster Mash.

At first we had nerves. We saw empty blocks, deserted streets and no other houses ready to pass out candy. But, the nerves quickly subsided after the kids started arriving and hearing their excited over popcorn made us realize we are finally welcomed in our neighborhood. Three batches and three hours later we packed up and switched the light off signaling no more treats. That night when the kids dumped their pillow cases full of goodies we knew we would be the talk of the neighborhood about our standout treats.

We hope you had a safe Halloween, next year we will be newlyweds passing out popcorn and I couldn’t be more excited.

XoXo Britt

ROYAL WEDDING

May 18, 2018 Britt Johnson

How many of you are staying up / waking up to watch The Royal Wedding 2018? Im not. Ill catch up tomorrow after I try and work towards better sleeping habbits but thats another blog post to come. However this Royal Wedding reminded me about the 2011 Royal Wedding and the coincidences both share.

In April 2011 Prince William married Kate for a Royal Wedding and in July of 2011 my cousin married at my parent's home for a Royal IB Wedding. Seven lucky years later Prince Harry is marrying Meghan in May of 2018 and in June 2018 my cousin is marrying at my parent's new home for another Royal IB Wedding.

Seven years ago I was transitioning from college life to real world and living back at home not even knowing that future Britt was to leave for Arizona end of that summer.

We transformed my childhood home into a wedding of my cousin's dreams: minus the dog barking in the yard during the entire ceremony. (Note to future Britt: make sure neighbor's dogs are properly stowed inside a home during our ceremony.) The alley was the entrance as well as the reception and the backyard was ceremony. It was unique to be polite. But my Aunt Jan was apart of this day and may she rest in peace its beautiful to remember this moment with her. there.

My cousin's wedding this summer which is following another Royal Wedding is set in a slightly new venue: my parent's new home. A bit larger and boujeeier than last I look forward to seeing how my cousin's dreams come to life for her special day.

As our Royal Wedding plans continue (jk) I look for any an all inspiration to make our backyard wedding a beautiful memory to last forever.

Congrats to Harry and Meghan. That reminds me I need to catch up on Suits.

TACO BOUT LOVE

TACO BOUT LOVE couples holiday party newhome https://www.findingarizonapodcast.com/finding-az-engagement/

We hit our first 30 days in the house and as the weather started heating up we knew it was time to officially warm our house with friends and family. Cinco De Mayo fell on a Saturday, and even though we had to sacrifice sharing the date with an event half our friends would be at we decided to let the games begin!

According to my DNA test im not a single bit hispanic, and with Jose's Puerto Rican and Native American background it was only fitting to theme in the most appropriate way! We didnt care if one person showed or a hundred we were excited to host this fiesta.

I had been purchasing small decorations here and there for a few weeks but when I got home Friday after work and saw a BBQ being build in our living room I was ready to prepare for the preparations. Saturday morning I was up at 5 am to clean the pool and tackle a work meeting. And after dealing with a car sitch we were off the Ranch Market for carne.

The final touch was cleaning the floors with Fabulosa and as I began to dash the Tajin on the fruit salad the first guest arrived. From there is was a whirlwind. No tour without a drink, no drink without a shot! House rules. Our guests kept cool by enjoying the pool and full by feasting on nachos, tamales and a taco bar!

Proud wifey moment was seeing all my guests stuffing their faces with the delicious BBQing Jose did! WOW! Everyone ate too much and drank too much. And shout out to those who did the dishes before leaving you are the real house party guest MVP's! We look forward to manny more bashes in the new casa!

THE BEST WEDDING EXPO YOU HAVEN'T HEARD OF

February 26th was a life changing day. It was a chilly, Sunday morning: there was frost on the grass. Normally, a Sunday you wouldn't find yourself roaming the downtown streets before dawn, but we were shooting with THE Jen Jinkens and channeled our inner models to brave the cold. We had a busy day planned: podcast, photo shoot, yoga, brunch, and a bridal expo, all before another podcast photoshoot at 3pm.

As much as the day had in in,  I remember every memory distinctly.

Jose and I were on our way to a unique local market featuring wedding vendors from the valley. Jose was down because it meant podcast networking and I was excited to possibly get impulsed on the thought of planning a wedding. Then, a phone call came in through the bluetooth and not having a caller ID we both looked at each other (don't worry, Jose was at a red light) and knee who it was.

12 Hours prior we docusigned an offer on a 4/2 Mid Century Home in Phoenix and our realtor was calling to tell us it was accepted! We were smiling from ear to ear and this car ride just become a literal vehicle to our future.

Pulling into the Farm at South Mountain we were very open minded because not only have we both never been to any bridal expo, let alone this one,  but also couldn't see it from the parking lot. The tickets were digitally purchsed online for $5 each and upon check in we each recived a tote, map, bridal mag and local vendor booklet. #lovelanguage

The Marry Mart utilized the huge space and it was filled with gorgeous pop-up display vendors featuring everything from beignets to bridal gowns. Each station was the entrepreneur themself(ves) or a close relative who shares the same passion. Each story was different, there were no two the same. Each space inspired us to want to make our special day using the amazing local creatives of the valley.

When this event comes to fruition again next year defintely make your way whether youre a bride to be or not it is a great chance to meet passionate creatives in the Valley in a gorgeous space tucked away!
