In this episode, Scott Blanford, co-founder and CEO of PreSwing Golf, shares how a Scottsdale-born mobile app is putting a human voice at the center of the golf swing. Scott, an Arizona resident since 1984 and an ASU alum, walks through his unexpected career arc, from merchandising for the Phoenix Suns, Arizona Diamondbacks, and Phoenix Coyotes in the 1990s to more than 30 years of building software. He explains how PreSwing takes what golfers learn on the range and brings it onto the course through audio swing thoughts recorded by real teaching pros, a tour caddie, and PGA TOUR winner Smylie Kaufman. Golfers can even record their own coach's voice or their own. Scott also shares where he draws the line between AI and human work, how a lean team and AI helped build the app, his ASU capstone partnership, and the story of playing golf with his 88-year-old dad and his son, who designed the app's logo. PreSwing launched on the App Store in September for iPhone and Apple Watch.
